Introducing a New Delight from Chianti Classico

Today, we are delighted to introduce a new addition from the Chianti Classico region.

Our featured winery is Il Palagio di Panzano, a charming, family-run estate known for its dedication to quality and tradition. We are thrilled to offer their exceptional Chianti Classico Riserva, made from the 2013 vintage—a year celebrated for its ideal weather conditions that produced a five-star harvest and perfectly balanced grapes.

Il Palagio di Panzano specializes in wines crafted from small-berry Sangiovese, particularly for their Chianti Classico. The estate emphasizes organic farming and environmental sustainability, nestled in the heart of Tuscany between Florence and Siena, just 36 km from Florence. The winery has a rich history: Dario Piccini and Dino Bindi, the founding grandfathers, worked the land with deep respect for the unique characteristics of the Conca d’Oro.

The legacy continues with the new generation. Fabrizio, Dario’s son, undertook the restoration of the Villa and established the new winery. Today, his daughter Monia and Dino’s nephew Franco Guarducci manage the estate. Il Palagio di Panzano is part of the Panzano Winegrowers Union, a collective of family-run farms committed to environmental sustainability and quality.

Tasting Notes: La Riserva 2013

The 2013 Riserva greets you with a brilliant ruby red color, tinged with garnet hues, retaining its luster even after 11 years. The nose unfolds slowly, revealing balsamic and lightly spiced notes that complement the aroma of ripe fruit. We like to describe its fragrance as reminiscent of mature cherries, though your own experience may evoke different memories and sensations.

The complexity of this wine continues to amaze us, even after 30 minutes in the glass, with hints of violet, chocolate, and a subtle touch of leather.

On the palate, it is perfectly balanced, with tannins seamlessly integrated into the body of the wine.

It offers a refreshing minerality and a freshness that we adore, delivering these sensations sip after sip.

Pairing Recommendation

We particularly enjoy this Riserva with a classic Tuscan dish, **Stufato alla Sangiovannese**, a traditional stew from the Valdarno region.

This rich beef stew is enhanced with a variety of spices, making it the perfect complement to the wine’s complex flavors.

Indulge in the rich history and vibrant flavors of Il Palagio di Panzano‘s Chianti Classico Riserva, and let this remarkable wine transport you to the heart of Tuscany, where tradition, passion, and sustainability come together in every bottle.
